Cervical mucus is secreted by glands found in and around the cervix. Just before ovulation occurs oestrogen causes an increase in cervical mucus. The general changes that cervical mucus go through are:
- Dry or sticky
- Creamy
- Wet
- Raw egg white consistency
- Then, back to dry and sticky
- When your cervical mucus is in the wet or raw eff consistency stage, ovulation is approaching. This is the best time to have sexual intercourse, if you want to get pregnant.
