Allergy Testing Case Histories

Kim F.

A 9-year-old girl presenting with chronic eczema, constant ear, nose and throat infections and poor energy.  Allergy test revealed allergies to dairy, chocolate, and oranges.  She was also found to be lacking in Zinc.  Food exclusion diet and zinc supplementation were recommended.  A bathing and creaming regime was recommended also.  At 8 weeks follow up patient’s eczema was almost completely clear and mother reported “a different child” in relation to health and energy.

Helen B.

A 13-year-old girl with chronic diarrhoea and abdominal cramping, poor concentration and poor sleep.  Allergy test revealed an allergy to Monosodium Glutamate.  Patient cut out MSG for 6 weeks and bowel was a regular once a day with no cramping.  Concentration and sleep were both improved.

 

 

Paul M.

A 14-year-old boy with headaches and anxiety.  Allergy test revealed allergy to ethanol (found in sprays and perfumes etc), pork, tea and tomatoes.  A vitamin B deficiency was also identified.  Allergies were eliminated from diet and environment and a B Complex was recommended.  At 8 weeks follow up mother reported that any exposure to ethanol triggered an instant headache.  Improvements in anxiety were also noted.

 

 

Robert P.

A 42-year-old male with abdominal bloating, wind and alternating between diarrhoea and constipation and joint pain.  Allergy test revealed a Gluten allergy.  A Gluten-free diet was recommended.  Within a week all problems were resolved.  After 6 weeks patient reintroduced gluten for 3 days and all symptoms returned.

 

Mary F.

55-year-old female in menopause with sweats, acne rosacea, irritability and emotionally drained.  Allergy test showed allergies to tomatoes, oranges, pork, caffeine, and dairy.   Patient excluded the allergies and an herbal supplement was recommended.  3 sessions of acupuncture were also done for the menopausal symptoms.  Within 2 months skin was very controlled and other symptoms were cleared.  The patient did return 6 months later for 3 more acupuncture sessions as the sweats had started to reappear.
